I have cleaned up some stupid typos. Now I have this:
household at R2D5:~$ sudo dirvish --vault R2D5-VboxVMs --init
dirvish R2D5-VboxVMs:default error (23) -- partial transfer
dirvish error: branch /mnt/backup/dirvish-bank/R2D5-VboxVMs:default image
2015-09-04-Fri-10:41:44 failed
On the backup drive I have:
household at R2D5:/mnt/backup/dirvish-bank/R2D5-VboxVMs$ sudo ls -l
2015-09-04-Fri-10\:41\:44/
total 16
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3195 Sep 4 10:41 log
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1165 Sep 4 10:41 rsync_error
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 628 Sep 4 10:41 summary
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Sep 4 10:41 tree
rsync_error contains:
rsync: change_dir "/home/household/VirtualBox\ VMs" failed: No such file or
directory (2)
rsync error: some files/attrs were not transferred (see previous errors)
(code 23) at main.c(1183) [sender=3.1.0]
I copy and paste "/home/household/VirtualBox\ VMs" into ls (w/o quotes) I
get:
ls -l /home/household/VirtualBox\ VMs
total 2440240
drwxrwxr-x 3 household household 4096 Aug 31 09:06 Win 2k sp2
-rw------- 1 household household 2498797568 Aug 31 09:06 Win2kSP2 Clone.vdi
So what can be wrong with the name of this directory???
I have learned a lot trying to debug this, I entered the name in the
default.conf as /home/household/VirtualBox\\ VMs/ to get the error down to
this point. I can try once more without the final /, but I suspect there
is something fundamental I am missing.
