Sam,
How long have you waited for a boot? Does the system emit any beep codes?

I work on Intel servers and they take forever to boot. It was pulling
teeth to get the BIOS team to display anything to the monitor during boot.
You just had to wait an eternity to know whether the system was going to
boot or not.

Intel servers will emit beep codes on errors. They also have an LED bank
on the motherboard to indicate what the BIOS is doing. I don't have
experience with SuperMicro, so I don't know if they do the same. If they
do, then get the PDF for the motherboard, and see what kind of boot
diagnostics exist.

Also, if your SMicro has a BMC you may be able to connect to the BMC
webserver (if it has one), and potentially get additional info.
