As part of my CentOS-to-Ubuntu system migration struggles,
I also repaired my UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply).
The ancient 12V/7Ah SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) battery gave up
the ghost years ago. While I am "under the hood", I will
add UPS interface software to my desktop systems, so I
need to get the UPS working again.

Rather than spend $20 on a replacement SLA, I purchased
a form-factor-compatible 12V/8Ah LiFePO₄ battery for $40.
Slightly more capacity, no liquid, no acid, no toxics,
and a third of the weight. Internal electronic battery
management system. In theory, it can last decades,
outlasting a dozen SLA batteries.

Charging the new UPS battery now. I will shut down the
computers and add it to the power circuit Real Soon Now.
