I imagine a weekend daytime PLUG tailgate party, with the
"tailgate" definition expanded to include bicycle panniers.
We arrange access to a parking lot and electrical power
and MANY extension cords.
(Note, I have a portable kilowatt generator, too heavy
to carry on my bicycle, probably not allowed on a bus.
Dozens of us would need far more than a kilowatt)
We bring our computers with something interesting running
on them, and wander between tailgates and computers to
see what others are having fun with.
Sorta like PLUG Linux Clinic, only focused on "discoveries"
rather than "questions". Solutions rather than problems.
Few-on-few rather than one-on-audience. Informal.
Probably a good idea to arrange portable awnings. Oregon
rain vexes only newcomers, but backlit screens are hard to
read in sunlight or twilight.
Note, I have a half-acre back yard, room for many bring-
your-own-tables, 2*20 amp service, but not much parking
nearby. There are huge parking lots at the nearby LDS
church, but they do odd things like "worship on weekends".
House off limits, but there is a contrived bucket poddy
in the greenhouse.
That's a starting idea. All you smart folks can think up
much better ideas.
