[PLUG] Foot pedal software for Linux

While puzzling through all the approached provided to get Windoze
software running to accept audio control with a foot pedal, I remembered
trying something a couple of years ago. It's a Linux program called
footswitch2.

It's more complex than I need, but does provide foot pedal control of
VLC. After some digging I found the secret handshake to get the program
to communicate with my foot pedal. I put the FOOTPEDAL_VPID_LOCK =
05f3:00ff, and the FOOTPEDAL_VPID_VERSION = 0100 in the config file, and
opened last week's transcription audio file. I may still have to play
with a couple of settings for backspace and speed, but at this point it
appears that I have eliminated the need for my virtual Win10.

Thanks to all who offered work around ideas for Express Scribe, but they
won't be needed.

As I mentioned above, I tried this a couple of years ago. The way it
installed embedded itself into LibreOffice in a way that I didn't care
for. Turns out I didn't have to do that this time. I can use fs2 in my
tool chain in a simple way, and I'm happy.
