RIP. I liked Michael. We met at a couple PLUG meetings, but mostly we
corresponded via e-mail. I think he was the first person who worked
for a huge corporation (US Bank) with whom I ever discussed IT issues.
I was working for OGI at the time, and I remember being startled to
find that someone might be a member of an entire group whose main
responsibility (at that time) was DHCP and DNS. I mean, we just kept
those records in version control and updated them as necessary; it was
a tiny part of our job. It dawned on me that I knew very little about
IT in the larger world.
