[PLUG] Installing linux on HP laptop

I  think it's just pressing F9 during boot to get the boot menu on these.

It's been years since I last needed to install linux on a windows laptop. If
you're familiar with the HP laptop, model #E327511 I need your advice on
booting it with my Slackware64-15.0 boot USB. I'm waiting now for it to do
its windows updates and hope to then find how to access the BIOS or UEFI as
soon as I turn it on so I can change the boot device order.

Apparently, holding the Fn+F2 key doesn't work.
